At the International Belle II Masterclass on March 7, 24 students got to know particle physics up close. In addition to introductory lectures on particle physics, the participants visited laboratories in the Research and Technology Center for Detector Physics and learned a lot about the construction of various detectors, e.g. for ATLAS and ALICE (CERN) or Belle II (KEK), at the University of Bonn. Afterwards, the students analyzed data from the Belle II experiment themselves and discussed their results in an international video conference with representatives from Germany, France, Slovenia and Japan. All in all, a successful day at the Research and Technology Center Detector Physics, organized by the Department of Physics and Astronomy in cooperation with Netzwerk Teilchenwelt.

Further International Masterclasses will take place on 14.3. with data from the LHCb and on 30.3. with data from the ATLAS experiment at the University of Bonn. All further information can be found here.
