The student research days International Masterclasses "hands on particle physics" take place every year at many universities and research centers worldwide.

This event aims to present current developments in particle physics. The focus is on the analysis of measurement data. In the morning, participants will receive introductory lectures on the basics of particle physics and on how to handle measurement data. Afterwards, data from current experiments will be analyzed. Afterwards, the participants discuss their results in an international video conference with international research centers such as CERN.

In 2023, the Physics/Astronomy Division of the University of Bonn will host three International Masterclasses analyzing data from CERN's ATLAS and LHCb experiments and the Belle II experiment in Japan.

All information about the program and registration can be found on the page of the respective event.
